Happy Christmas, everyone. Rest up, if you can! We’ll need to be in fine fettle for 2023!

A very happy Christmas and New Year to all our readers from the team at West Country Voices.

We are going to take a bit of a break and detoxify (oh my, how we do need to detoxify!)from Westminster for a few days but urge you, if you have a few idle moments, to have a browse through our back catalogue. The topic headings at the bottom of the home page will help to narrow your choice. There are lots of goodies you may have missed! And look out for our review of 2022 and our resolutions for 2023…

We’ve put out a huge range of articles written by ‘ordinary’ extraordinary people from each of our four counties and beyond. A big thank you to all those contributors,. Keep the articles coming! Citizen journalism is where it’s at!

Perhaps you feel inspired to write for us? Get in touch: editor@westcountryvoices.co.uk. We’d love to hear from you! We offer sympathetic editorial advice and encouragement to those new to the activity. We are particularly keen to hear from young writers or people with local stories. Give it a go! You never know, you may find it addictive!

Finally, I think all of us feel quite worn down by the events of 2022 – the lying, the corruption, the economic and social hardship, the inequality and cruelty, the revolving door at Number 10 and the whole flipping getting-away-with-it thing. We are going to need all our energy to take up the battle for truth and justice again in 2023, so relax, enjoy being with loved ones and recharge the batteries for the challenges to come. The pendulum will swing eventually. It must.

Please recommend us to friends. We run on a shoestring and you are our distribution network. Thank you again for reading West Country Voices. You make it all worthwhile!
