Whilst there he was a union representative for the environment and climate change and was part of the union representation on campus biodiversity, transport and sustainability committees. He is also a seasoned environmental and social justice researcher and campaigner, working with such local groups as Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and Transition Towns Bournemouth.
