High time the mainstream media challenged this government’s bragging on carbon emissions

Dear Journalists,
Please challenge ministers when they brag that UK has cut emissions by nearly 50 per cent. That’s only part of the story and highly misleading – because we’ve offshored so much manufacturing.

2/ Once we account for the manufacturing emissions that we've moved offshore and for international aviation & shipping, currently excluded from UK reporting, the UK has cut its total emissions footprint by just 23% since 1990. The UK has in fact barely cut emissions at all outside of the power sector since 2010. An abject failure.

What’s more, our emissions figures have loads of omissions (like other nations). Politicians like Sunak are not telling the truth.
