Call an immediate general election to end the chaos of the current government
Call an immediate general election so that the people can decide who should lead us through the unprecedented crises threatening the UK.

Unsurprisingly, there was but one Conservative MP present to put the case against the petitioners: Brendan Clarke-Smith who spoke on behalf of the government.
The poor attendance at this important debate was in part due to the ongoing chaos taking place in the Commons on Monday. The government is in total disarray, and it is embarrassing and deeply worrying to watch the ever increasing shambolic responses as it tries to extricate itself from the unholy mess that it is in: a mess entirely of its own making.
As a non-Conservative voter this might be assumed to give me pleasure. It does not. It does not because the sovereign country, which you and I love, has been brought to its knees. Britain’s economic well-being has been trashed, and our standing in the world has been diminished beyond recognition by this corrupt, deceitful, reckless government in which you play a stalwart part.
If you have not already done so, I urge you to read the arguments in the transcript of those MPs who spoke for the petitioners. They outline in thorough detail the multitude of reasons why I and the majority of the electorate want a General Election. Why are we not being given the opportunity to have our say? The times are unprecedented and your government is failing the people of this once great nation, which prided itself as the Mother of Democracy..
Be in no doubt: your government has no mandate for what it is doing at the moment. It is off-piste. Reeling from one disaster to the next. The petition, which is not closed, has been signed by more than seven times the number of people who elected Liz Truss as PM. This is as I write.
It is not good enough, either, for Truss to simply apologise for ‘mistakes’ and carry on regardless, or for a new chancellor to step up and make things better.
Firstly, Truss did not make a mistake in conventional terms. Her policies were deliberate and she boasted all through the summer about what she was going to do. She completely denigrated Sunak’s ideas. Her mistake was merely a personal one in that her crackpot and bloody dangerous policies damaged herself and your party.
She does not care about Britain or the majority of the people of Britain. She and your party are not putting the country first or its people. The sordid goings on at the moment are merely an attempt to cling on to power to stop the total annihilation of the Tory Party. Tory part first. Country and people way down the list.
If you genuinely believe in putting the country first you should move for a GE and let the people decide whom they want to begin to try and sort out this mess. This is the only decent and democratic thing to do. Such an act would embody the Ministerial Code and the Nolan principles.
If you do care more for democracy and your country than your own self-interest you would do this. This is what you are entrusted to do. Furthermore, your personal financial future is more than secure, even if you were to lose your seat at the next election due to the exceptionally generous pension scheme for MPs which the public pays for. Alas, the financial security of those you claim to represent in this constituency is hanging by a thread for many.
If you do not feel that you should call for an election, then please assist me by giving some detailed reasoning of your own as to why you won’t do so.
