The truth deemed ‘misinformation’…

Yesterday LinkedIn took down my video of Stanley Johnson, Boris Johnson’s father, claiming that the post represented โ€˜misinformationโ€™.

In the video, Mr Johnson senior asserted that we only have Brexit because, โ€œit was a cunning ploy by the Russians to destabiliseโ€ฆWestern democracyโ€.

Despite the allegation by LinkedIn that this was โ€˜misinformationโ€™, my post was genuine.

The father of the former Prime Minister made his claims about Russian interference on a podcast called โ€˜Chopperโ€™s Brexit Podcastโ€™, which was broadcast on 11 October 2019.

Check it out if youโ€™re at all suspicious: https://podcasts.apple.com/…/priti…/id1213415786

But LinkedIn wrote to me that:

โ€˜We found your post does not comply with our Professional Community Policies on misinformation. It has been removed and only you can access it.โ€™

Their stern warning to me on Sunday morning added:

โ€˜Repeatedly creating content that doesn’t comply with our Professional Community Policies could lead to your LinkedIn account being restricted.โ€™

But at 4:27am today LinkedIn emailed again saying:

โ€œInitially, your post was removed for going against our policies.

โ€œAs part of our review, we now find that your post doesn’t go against our policies and apologize for the mistake. Your post is back on LinkedIn.โ€

Hereโ€™s the Stanley Johnson video that for almost 24 hours was removed by LinkedIn by โ€˜mistakeโ€™.

And just to make it clear: I am not here to post misinformation. I am here to counter misinformation.
