Yesterday LinkedIn took down my video of Stanley Johnson, Boris Johnson’s father, claiming that the post represented โmisinformationโ.
In the video, Mr Johnson senior asserted that we only have Brexit because, โit was a cunning ploy by the Russians to destabiliseโฆWestern democracyโ.
Despite the allegation by LinkedIn that this was โmisinformationโ, my post was genuine.
The father of the former Prime Minister made his claims about Russian interference on a podcast called โChopperโs Brexit Podcastโ, which was broadcast on 11 October 2019.
Check it out if youโre at all suspicious: https://podcasts.apple.com/…/priti…/id1213415786
But LinkedIn wrote to me that:
โWe found your post does not comply with our Professional Community Policies on misinformation. It has been removed and only you can access it.โ
Their stern warning to me on Sunday morning added:
โRepeatedly creating content that doesn’t comply with our Professional Community Policies could lead to your LinkedIn account being restricted.โ
But at 4:27am today LinkedIn emailed again saying:
โInitially, your post was removed for going against our policies.
โAs part of our review, we now find that your post doesn’t go against our policies and apologize for the mistake. Your post is back on LinkedIn.โ
Hereโs the Stanley Johnson video that for almost 24 hours was removed by LinkedIn by โmistakeโ.
And just to make it clear: I am not here to post misinformation. I am here to counter misinformation.
